'Ad (people) belied the Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 125 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 126 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 127 "Do you build useless monuments on every mountain 128 And take ye for yourselves castles that haply ye may abide. 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 And fear Him Who hath aided you with that which ye know. 132 "He has aided you with cattle and children. 133 "And Gardens and Springs. 134 for, verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on an awesome day!" 135 They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers 136 This is naught but a custom of the ancients; 137 And we shall not be doomed. 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 140
