The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
