The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you who covers himself [with a garment], 1 Arise and warn! 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 And thine inner self purify! 4 and defilement flee! 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 it will be a hard day 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave him to Me whom I created alone, 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Again, death seized him, how was his determining! 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 and it burns the flesh. 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
