By no means! By the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 who will be in Paradise 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
