When the messengers came to Lot and his family, 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
