The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
