The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
