The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 Who will be honoured 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 a host of the ancients 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water gushing, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
