Then none believed in Musa save a posterity of his people, through fear of Fir'awn and their chiefs, lest he should persecute them; and verily Fir'awn was lofty in the land, and verily he was of the extravagant. 83 Moses told his people, "If you have submitted yourselves to God and have faith in Him, put your trust in Him". 84 They said: 'We have put our trust in Allah. Our Lord, do not let us be a temptation to the harmdoing nation. 85 Save us, through Your Mercy, from the unbelieving nation' 86 And We revealed to Musa and his brother, saying: Take for your people houses to abide in Egypt and make your houses places of worship and keep up prayer and give good news to the believers. 87 And Moses prayed: "O our Sustainer! Verily, splendour and riches hast Thou vouchsafed, in the life of this world, unto Pharaoh and his great ones - with the result, O our Sustainer, that they are leading [others] astray from Thy path! O our Sustainer! Wipe out their riches, and harden their hearts, so that they may not attain to faith ere they see the grievous suffering [that awaits them]!" 88 Said (the Lord): "Your prayer is answered. Therefore persist and do not follow the path of those who are ignorant." 89 ۞ And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with his hosts followed them in oppression and enmity, till when drowning overtook him, he said: "I believe that La ilaha illa (Huwa): (none has the right to be worshipped but) He," in Whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am one of the Muslims (those who submit to Allah's Will)." 90 Now? And you had disobeyed [Him] before and were of the corrupters? 91 We shall now save your corpse that you may serve as a sign of warning for all posterity, although many men are heedless of Our signs. 92
