The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Their reckoning has drawn near to men, and in heedlessness are they turning aside. 1 No recent revival of the remembrance comes to them from their Lord, except that they play with it as they listen 2 With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?" 3 The Prophet said: my Lord knoweth the word in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Hearer, the Knower. 4 They have said, "It, (the Quran), is only the result of some confused dreams. He is only a poet. He should show us some miracles, as the ancient Prophets had done." 5 (As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe? 6 Never did We send a message before you but through a man, whom We inspired. If you do not know, then ask the keepers of the oracles of God. 7 And We did not create them (the Messengers, with) bodies that ate not food, nor were they immortals, 8 In the end We fulfilled to them Our Promise, and We saved them and those whom We pleased, but We destroyed those who transgressed beyond bounds. 9 We have revealed a Book to you which is admonition for you. Will you not then understand? 10
