O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 This community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so hold Me alone in fear. 52 Yet they divided themselves into factions, each rejoicing in what they had. 53 So leave them in their intoxication till a time. 54 What, do they think that We succour them with of wealth and children, 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Surely those who stand in awe for fear of their Lord, 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And those who do not ascribe any partner to their Lord – 59 who give what they give, with their hearts quaking, that they will return to their Lord: 60 Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others. 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are heedless of this. Moreover, there are other deeds besides this which they do. 63 To the extent that when We seized the wealthy among them with punishment, they immediately began imploring. 64 Supplicate not this day! Assuredly ye will not be helped by Us. 65 My communications were indeed recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels, 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Have they not pondered over the Word (of Allah, i.e. what is sent down to the Prophet SAW), or has there come to them what had not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or is it that they were unaware of their Messenger and were therefore repelled by him for he was a stranger to them? 69 Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 Or are you asking them for any reward? But the reward of your Lord is the best, for He is the Best of Providers, 72 And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. 73 but those who disbelieve the life hereafter deviate from the right path. 74 ۞ And though We have mercy on them We may remove whatsoever of hurt is with them, surely they would persist in their exorbitance, wandering perplexed. 75 Already We have seized them with the punishment, but they neither humbled themselves to their Lord, nor did they beseech Him, 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
