The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
