The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
