Nay, by the moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Till death overtook us. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
