The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
