The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
