The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and gathered his people together 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
