Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And no trifle. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
