The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Almighty God's Truth.
