The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; 2 Who believe in [the existence of] that which is beyond the reach of human perception, and are constant in prayer, and spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance; 3 And who believe in the Revelation sent to thee, and sent before thy time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter. 4 It is they who follow the guidance [which comes from their Sustainer]; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! 5 Verily those who have disbelieved, it is equal to them whether thou warnest them or warnest them not; they will not believe. 6 Allah has sealed their hearts and their ears, and on their eyes is a covering; and for them is a terrible punishment. 7
