And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We gave him his family and the like of them with them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to those possessed of understanding. 43 "Take a handful of herbs," (We said to him), and apply and rub them, and do not make a mistake." We found him patient in adversity, an excellent devotee, always turning in repentance. 44 And remember Our servants Ibrahim and Ishaq and Yaqoub, men of power and insight. 45 Verily We did choose them for a special (purpose)- proclaiming the Message of the Hereafter. 46 Lo! in Our sight they are verily of the elect, the excellent. 47 Remember also Our servants Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl; each is among the excellent. 48 This is an advice; and indeed for the pious is an excellent abode. 49 Gardens of Eden with gates open wide to them, 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks; 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 This is the promise being given to you, for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Most surely this is Our sustenance; it shall never come to an end; 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 Hell; they shall enter it, so evil is the resting-place. 56 This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence. 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 (We shall say to their leaders): 'This is a troop rushing in with you, there is no welcome for them, they shall roast in the Fire' 59 They say, 'No, it is you have no Welcome; you forwarded it for us; how evil a stablishment!' 60 [And] they will pray: "O our Sustainer! Whoever has prepared this for us, double Thou his suffering in the fire!" 61 They say, 'How is it with us, that we do not see men here that we counted among the wicked? 62 Took we them so unjustly for a butt of mockery, or are they deluding our eyes? 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
