The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Compassionate. 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man. 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
