This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 And We did not destroy any town but it had (its) warners, 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 And warn your near relations, 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
