So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
