Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you] 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said: my Lord! Verily I have called my people night and day. 5 But my call has only made them flee the more: 6 Every time I have called to them, so that You might forgive them, they have only thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 "I preached to them aloud, in public. 8 and spoke to them in public and in private." 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance 11 rain from the sky, 12 strengthen you by (providing) you wealth and children, and make gardens and streams for you. What is the matter with you that you are not afraid of the greatness of God 13 He has created you by stages! 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp? 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. 17 how He will then return you to it and bring you forth again, 18 And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse 19 That you may go along therein in wide paths. 20
