The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
