The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe unto every slanderer, traducer, 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 And what shall make thee know that which the Crushing Fire is? 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 closed around them 8 In outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
