The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness this land 1 And you, [O Muhammad], are free of restriction in this city - 2 And the parent and the offspring, 3 Assuredly We have created man in trouble. 4 Thinketh he, that none hath power over him? 5 He will say: 'I have destroyed a vast wealth' 6 Does he believe that none has seen him? 7 Have We not made for him two eyes 8 and a tongue, and a pair of lips, 9 And shown unto him the two highways? 10 But he hath not attempted the Ascent - 11 And what have you understood, what the valley is! 12 It is the freeing of a slave 13 or, in a day of famine, the feeding of 14 an orphaned relative 15 Or a needy person in misery 16 And moreover to be of those who accepted faith, and who urged patience to one another and who urged graciousness to one another. 17 Those are the Companions of the Right Hand. 18 But those who disbelieve Our revelations, their place will be on the left hand. 19 and the Fire will close in on them. 20
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
