And the people of the Hijr (rocks) denied the Noble Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 But the Shout seized them in the morning, 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We did not create the heavens and the earth, and what is between them except in truth. The Hour is sure to come, therefore, forgive them with a gracious pardon. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 Do not stretch your eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy, nor sorrow for them, and lower your wing to the believers. 88 and clearly tell the unbelievers: "I am most certainly a plain warner," 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
