The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
