The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
