And indeed, [in times long past] We sent forth Noah unto his people, and he dwelt among them a thousand years bar fifty; and then the floods overwhelmed them while they were still lost in evildoing: 14 but We saved him, together with all who were in the ark, which We then set up as a symbol [of Our grace] for all people [to remember]. 15 And Abraham, when he said to his people, 'Serve God, and fear Him; that is better for you, did you know. 16 You worship idols besides God and fabricate falsehoods. Those whom you worship besides God have no power to provide sustenance for you. So seek your sustenance from God and worship Him and be grateful to Him, for to Him you shall return. 17 And if you reject (the truth), nations before you did indeed reject (the truth); and nothing is incumbent on the apostle but a plain delivering (of the message). 18 What! do they not consider how Allah originates the creation, then reproduces it? Surely that is easy to Allah. 19 Tell them, "Roam the earth and see how He originated creation. Then God will bring into being your second life. God has power over all things. 20 "He punishes whom He pleases, and He grants Mercy to whom He pleases, and towards Him are ye turned. 21 Escape Him you cannot either in the earth or in the sky; and you have no friend or helper apart from God. 22
