We saved the Children of Israel from their humiliating torment 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
