He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 And hath fear, 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 In honored books, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what thing did He create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
