The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? 36
