The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And the day resplendent 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
