The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
