In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
