The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the mount. 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 on unrolled parchment, 3 by the established House (Mecca), 4 The roof raised high, 5 And the swollen sea 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 Of it there is no preventer. 8 On the day when the heavens will swiftly fly 9 And the mountains will move away with an awful movement. 10 Woe, then, will be on that Day to the beliers 11 Who play in talk of grave matters; 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 This is the fire which you used to deny. 14 Is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss, 17 enjoying what Allah will have endowed them with; and their Lord will have saved them from the torment of the Blazing Fire. 18 (They will be told): “Eat and drink to your hearts' content as a reward for your deeds.” 19 Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. 20 And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith, We shall unite them with their offspring; and We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste: [but] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 and in that [paradise] they shall pass on to one another a cup which will not give rise to empty talk, and neither incite to sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 They will turn to one another and ask (regarding the past events). 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 Then Allah graced us with His favour and saved us from the chastisement of the scorching wind. 27 Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful." 28
