Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 He abandoned his people 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 can lure away from God any 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
