The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 you pay attention 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
