The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
