▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 From the guilty. 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
