Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 He said: O my people! Surely I am a plain warner to you: 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said, "My Lord! I have called my people night and day 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 Then I invited them publicly. 8 and preached to them in public, and also addressed them in secret. 9 "Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. 10 He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers 11 rain from the sky, 12 What ails you, that you look not for majesty in God, 13 And surely He hath created you by stages. 14 ‘Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens atop each other?’ 15 and made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp, 16 "'And God has caused you to grow out of the earth in [gradual] growth; and thereafter He will return you to it [in death]: 17 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? 18 And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse 19 so that you may tread its spacious paths.” 20
