۞ And when the son of Mary is cited as an example, behold, thy people turn away from it 57 and say: "Which is better - our deities or he?" [But] it is only in the spirit of dispute that they put this comparison before thee: yea, they are contentious folk! 58 He is nothing but a slave on whom We bestowed favour, and We made him a pattern for the Children of Israel. 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 (Muhammad), tell them, "Jesus is a sign of the Hour of Doom. Have no doubt about it and follow me; this is the straight path. 61 And let not the Shaitan prevent you; surely he is your open enemy. 62 When Jesus came with the signs, he said: "I have come to you with authority, and to explain some thing about which you are at variance. So fear God, and follow me. 63 Verily God is my Lord and your Lord; so worship Him. This is the straight path." 64 But the parties among them fell into variance; so woe unto those who did evil, because of the chastisement of a painful day. 65 Are they waiting (for any thing) but the Hour (of Doom) which would descend upon them suddenly, and catch them unawares? 66 On that Day close friends shall become enemies of each other, except those who fear (Allah). 67
