Al-Mu' minoon 3 of 6
And the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had made soft in the life of the world, said: This is only a mortal like you, who eateth of that whereof ye eat and drinketh of that ye drink. 33 And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers: 34 "Does he promise that when ye die and become dust and bones, ye shall be brought forth (again)? 35 ۞ Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised! 36 This is our only life. We live and will die but we will never be brought back to life again. 37 "He is only a man who has invented a lie against Allah, but we are not going to believe in him." 38 He said, 'O my Lord, help me, for that they cry me lies.' 39 (Allah) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!" 40 And the Cry seized them in justice and We made them withered. So begone with the harmdoing nation. 41 Then, after them, We created other generations. 42 No nation can go before its term ends nor stay back. 43 We then sent our Noble Messengers, one after another; whenever a nation’s Noble Messenger came to it they denied him, We therefore united the succeeding with the old, and made them history; so far removed be the people who do not believe! 44 We then sent Moosa and his brother Haroon, with Our signs and a clear proof. 45 To Pharaoh and his Chiefs: But these behaved insolently: they were an arrogant people. 46 And they said: Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves, and whose folk are servile unto us? 47 Thus, they gave the lie to those two, and earned (thereby) their place among the doomed: 48 And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Mary) and his mother as a sign, And We gave them refuge on high ground, a place of rest, security and flowing streams. 50

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
