Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 He said: "O my people! Verily, I am a plain warner to you, 2 that you serve Allah and fear Him, and follow me; 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 And behold, whenever I called unto them with a view to Thy granting them forgiveness, they put their fingers into their ears, and wrapped themselves up in their garments [of sin]; and grew obstinate, and became [yet more] arrogant in their false pride. 7 Then I called them loudly and more openly, 8 And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private. 9 Then I said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving: 10 He will send you abundant 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 What is the matter with you, [that you fear not Allah (His punishment), and] you hope not for reward (from Allah or you believe not in His Oneness). 13 And surely He hath created you by stages. 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp? 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth, 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 That of it ye may traverse the ways open. 20
