The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Certainly will the believers have succeeded: 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 These are the real gainers, 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
