We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
