Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
